fixing ply to floor boards

It doesn't take long.
I plyed most of the downstairs of my house after doing some serious work. It doesn't take long, especially if the skirting is off as the cuts don't need to be as accurate on the edges.

Good quality screws are the key, which you have said already. Impact driver will burn through a box in no time.
I put a few odd ones in to hold the sheets in place while cutting and laying out, then did the rest in one hit.

Missing the point, but why would you want to overlay with ply or hardboard?

the guy has refubered his house mansion and wants it done the chipboard floring has been cut in places i think

how nice . fancy going to that house to work. take carpet up and see over boarding then look even sicker when its chipboard not ordinary floorboards underneath I just went to see a house rewire all chipboard floors upstairs and concrete floors below .the house is getting re hashed and ensuites added and rooms and bedrooms swapped round .the guys ripping all the floors out so I will give a price and do it .if the floors wernt coming up I wasn't going to bother . who needs crap like that

its what lots of new builds around here are going with now too!

at least new builds are dot and dab walls along with wood partitions. the wirings new so easy to work on adding extra points and lights .most wires can be threaded behind the dot and dab walls with only a few holes to chase where the adhesive is

Radio 2... It should make it go pretty fast... you'll be trying to feed the impact driver with screws constantly so you can't hear it

How many sheets of ply for the whole top floor ? is the ply he has bought 8x4..and are you working on your own ? Rip them down lengthwise if you have a table saw ,makes them much easier to handle ,and stagger the joints ....

Rip them down lengthwise if you have a table saw ,makes them much easier to handle ,and stagger the joints ....

ill be on my own no table saw, not sure how many sheets need to go take a look at the job he would get 8x4 sheets yes

What about using plaster board screws, then you can use a collated screw driver, Lidl were selling them awhile back, they are brilliant on plaster board.

I did my living room with 4mm ply to make it better for mum to walk on.
I used 14mm staples in a tack stapler.
Took about two hours, and it's stayed flat.

Collated screw gun , with dry wall screws ,
commercial floor layers have extention handles for them, bad knees and back ,
Some of the poly floors ask for screws 150mm centres,
You work that out on a 1200+2400 sheet ,
Mind numbing,
