Morning all
I have a cast iron skylight to fix from my workshop roof, an old farm building. It has 2 hinges so that the frame that holds the glass can flat up away from the main body. On each hinge, one of the ears has broken away from the glazed frame.
What's my best bet to fix it? I don't need it to open so doesn't need to be massively strong, but equally once it's back up there it'll be hard to fix again.
Options I have:
150amp mig - not advised for cast I know, would it work in a pinch?
Braze with Mapp - possible?
JB Weld - would it last?
The frame is thin, about 3mm. The hinge ear about 10mm, its broken at the joint between the two
Thanks!
