IMO Makitas are not what they used to be, and we're not using them any more. WE've had two hot air guns fail within minutes of use, cordless drills failed after a few months and then a 4" grinder stopped and never to go again, only 6 weeks old. However, I must add that our first 4" angle grinder still works great, umpteen sets of brushes later and a little noisier. No complaints though, it's over 20 years old.
They could have been replaced under warranty, but got money back instead.
We now use 1 hitachi 115mm grinder, Bosch air guns, Milwauki cordless, my old Parkside 5" grinder and had no bother in two years. No more Makita for me, sorry.
Have used a Bosch 18v cordless drill, has 2 settings: high speed and high torque. The latter is a serious thumb breaker, I won't use it without a side handle
