Hello, is there an easy way to fit an MT4 (external) reamer to my Boxford STS lathe tailstock which has an MT3 taper? There are plenty of reducing adaptors, are there any 'increasing' adaptors?
Or should I just find someone with a bigger lathe that has an MT4 tailstock?
The steering relays of my Citroen DS have a central hole of 46mm. The bearing cups have brindled (is that the correct word?). A repair kit is available, but the bore has to be increased to 47mm. I have just bought a 47mm machine reamer, it is MT4.
Will I need to machine the bore slightly bigger or should a 47mm reamer enter a 46mm hole?
Have I dropped a clanger?
Thanks
