Hi all,
Has anyone got some smart ideas about fitting a chuck to a rotary table?
I've got a tatty 3 jaw which I wanted to use with my rotary table, only difficult is of course the 3 jaw has threaded holes for a backplate to be screwed in from the underneath, and the rotary table has t slots where you tighten from above.
I've seen some examples of people making essentially very large back plates and drilling holes to match the t slot, but finding a piece of plate large enough (I imagine it would need to be around 20cm) might prove quite costly.
To make it a bit more complicated the chuck has 3 equally spaced threaded holes and the rotary table 4.
The rotary table has a central hole (not sure if it's tapered) and the chuck does too so perhaps this would be a good way of lining them up?
Examples of how other people have mounted theirs would be much appreciated if possible!
I can also post some pictures if needed when I get back tonight.
