I had a custom manifold made for my car as part of my project and needed to get a downpipe made up for it. So my approach was to make a jig, using the stock manifold/turbo/downpipe as a guige to build the jig around. This would give the exact start and end points that were required.
My friend started me off by squaring the top plate into the verticle supports and then I cracked on with the rest. Was my first time picking up a MIG welder so I was quite impressed that it stayed together.
This was then sent off to a TIG fabricator with a new manifold and turbo so they could make me a new downpipe and screamer pipe for the wastegate.
This is the downpipe together with the turbo.
The TIG Fabricator had another customer enquiring about a manfold like mine for the same type of car, so I actually sold him the jig
Check me out... selling my first piece of faabrication
