First time welder advice needed.

Just picked up my first welder, and i know its not the best, but it was cheap.

Its a SIP MIGMATE TURBO 150, got to modify it first to make it more usable .

Now the questions...

1) Im going to be using it mainly for bodywork, small fabrication.
A) Am i right in thinking 0.6mm wire is the best to use.
B) What is the best gas to use for shielding.
2) Anyone local to lichfield, staff, that can recommend places to get sheet metal
and box sections from.
3) Need a good place to get wire and gas from, as well as wire liners, tips
etc, any recommendations, id prefer somewhere local to pic up from.

1st job will be the construction of a welding trolley so im after ideas/plans for one.

o.6 ideal for light panel bodywork,Argosheild Lite or equiv for shielding gas,get spares right here from Weldequip,look at the top of the page for shop or PM him,gas- if you dont want a contract with BOC or Air Products there are more and more indipendents around these days....do a google search for your area,likewise steel stockholders....until you get a local reply,that is!
