Ok, so I finally got to pull the trigger on a tig welder. What I got was a kemppi mastertig 2000ac\dc with pulse panel. Previous owner had it for 4 years, but only welded 3 feet with it. ofcourse he longer saw any use for it so i picked it up for a good price.
Didn't have alot of aluminium laying around, but I had a small scrap piece about 1.5mm thick that I ran a test on.
I've been reading alot and watching alot of videos from weldingtipsandtricks.com I think he really is a good video teacher, my welds didn't end up like his, but I never thought they would :P
I was welding standing up with the workpiece in a vice, so hands where a bit shaky without anything to guide my hand on.
one thing I learnt quikly was that the way it welds changes dramatically from pass to pass, because of the workpiece becoming hotter and hotter.
