Hi,
I would like to start to learn tig welding.
I was thinking that I should buy a second hand quality machine.
Or perhaps a good Chinese machine.
I think I would like a welder that I could plug in third party torches or pedals to.
I have a 3 phase outlet x16A. I do not know how many amps I need but I think something like 200A
Suggestions?
What is the difference between a good machine and a not so good?
I don't know if I"m going to need AC, I don't know if I need water cooling.
I like the size of the torches when they are water cooled. How are the water cooled torches? Are they stiffer and more heavy and awkward to use?
Is it worth buying a third party water cooler that is cheap or should I buy a rig with a water cooler included even if they are 3 times as expensive? Good brand of third party water cooler?
Suggestion on good torches, cups and consumables are also welcome.
I don't know if I need a foot pedal, but I think I would like one.
Max cost 1000-1500 gbp but I could go up to 2500.
Thanks for the help
