German tourist wins payout after losing sun lounger race
The man sued his tour operator for allowing people to reserve sun loungers with towels despite a hotel ban on the practice.

Stay up and at 01.23 hrs. go to the pool and chuck all "This is my place, well away it is reserved " stuff into the pool , move the beds a decent distance , lay your own gear for the day out then go to sleep the bed .

I find it's still funny , even though we're 30 or so years on.

I think the hotels should ban "towel booking" and just operate a "first come, first served" system, or is that too logical?.
We got better tans walking to & from the beach for lots of snorkelling and eating our sou shoos etc. once we got away from the Germans hogging the only bit of flat wet sand for a few hundred yards to play racquet ball at the waters edge knocking little kids out the way & generally being rude Germans. The big 2.4m tall cloggies tipping 140 kg were just as bad .
On our honeymoon we hired mopeds and bone domes for a day and went all over the Island of Spetse using a small tourists map we took with us then after finding a beach well away from the maddening crowd, finding not much used tracks to go along . Then we hired push bikes for a week and went snorkelling there ,as well . I caught a large octopus about 7 Oke .. Which our favourite restaurant swapped for a steak dinner & two bottles of mavrodaphne for us both .

Similar to us Dapph, we went to Kefalonia one year, in the mornings, wife & I used to off for a walk up through the olive groves & end up in the next bay, lunch time then wander back along the beach in time for an afternoon swim. Someone in the hotel stopped us one morning & said “I do envy you off walking each day, but we feel we are too old now” when talking to them, we realised they were considerably younger than us.
