Nice work m8...all looks very familiar. Mine was gone in exactly the same place...the front of the inner rear arch where it joins the sill was a real pain. To get the under seal off I use a small wire brush in a drill....works really well for me...screwfix sell them and they are pretty good.

Thanks bud. I welded in a repair to the rear of the arch today no pics yet. Yip am not looking forward to the sill/arch bit looks like it could be tricky. Hard to imagine it till the sill is back on though

Here is a picture of the rear arch patch welded in and ground back, not quite as good as I had hoped but it good enough I guess.
I am back down tonight to start fabricating the inner sill parts.
I also started to clean up inside the engine bay to get a break from the stress lol

Looking great...I did some good pics when I did the sill return on mine....was a bit if a faff as you have to get the lower lip on the sill spot on before you weld in the inner repair. Back in the day there weren't any sill kits so I had to shape it all myself. Your metal working skills are pretty good I'd say by the looks of things. Couple of things worth checking on the engine side...to the left of your pic is a kind of swirl pot on the intake side...mine had gotten stuck which made the engine sound like it has a mis fire....it's vacuum operated. The other thing worth checking is the fuel lines underneath on the bulkhead...mine were rusted through.

Yeah I was scratching my head to a while tonight working out what I need to do, I will look back at your thread as it's spot on it definitely gave the encouragement needed to tackle the job
I have checked that vacuum operated valve it's fine, it's something to do with the induction I gather.
Yeah we are lucky now the sills I bought are great and the link up part saves a heap of grief

Have been way to busy to get much done however found a few hours tonight to get a bit more work done.
Started to piece the front of the rear wheel arch back together it was a little tricky to get at but should work out in the end.
I then switched off the welder to begin removing rust from the suspension components and a spot of paint.
