Well today was the first crack with the new tig,
christ it aint easy, 1st of all forgot to turn on the gas, then started with the amps far to high, and possibly trying with the difficult stuff 1st, tube to a flat plate.
Having read a few posts is it better to shape the tungsten or leave them as they arrive ie square.
I am using a 1.6 tungsten (grey)tip with 316 1.6mm filler rods and pure argon.
I will try to get some pics up on the interweb over the weekend, unsure if i am welding to similar or disimiler types of stainless as i am using scrap 1st before going on to the hand rails
Great site
Kind Regards
