Hello,
I am looking to purchase my first MIG welder, I am a total novice, the small amount of welding experience I do have is with my old Oxford oil cooled MMA welder and i'm not that good. I am looking to be able to weld from 1mm or 2mm right up to 10mm mild steel. I am also looking to upgrade my garage to include a 16amp type D socket or perhaps a 32amp socket depending on what the feedback is on here. I see there is a huge range of MIG welders out there which is quite baffling. I checked with my local welding supplier who suggested the CROS-ARC 201C MIG/MMA as being a great welder and would be ideal for my needs, see attached for specs. However at £531 + VAT not including a regulator and wire, it is a bit more than I was initially looking to spend, really rather spend no more than £400 all in. Is this CROS-ARC welder any good, anyone with any experience with this brand or can anyone suggest any other makes and models. I want something easy to weld with, set up and is well built to last me for many years.
Thanks,
Barrie
