I have been doing a bit more practicing with the ESAB C160i I bought and thought I could do with doing a bit of 'real' welding. The ESAB is very light and portable but the gas bottle isn't .
I had saved a kids pull cart (or tricycle can't really remember) that got broken as I thought it may come in handy for something. I tend to keep stuff like that much to the puzzlement of my other half . Anyway, i thought why not get a bit more practice in and try to make a gas bottle holder. This is what it came out like
I used some old square section legs off an old table that was destined for the tip. I welded two legs together to make the main upright then welded this to the upturned half a tricycle. There was a sort of u shaped piece on the tricycle which was redundant so I cut and welded it on at the back to make a shelf for the welder. Anyway here is the finished thing. Just needs a bit of paint.
I'm really pleased with it and got loads of practice welding different sorts of sections and thiknesses
