The 'get out of jail free' card if you've made something like that out of square is to bounce the corner on the floor on the 'long side' to square it up.........then get your tools and don't come back

Looking good, but your top row of scrolls is upside down in the last pic if your copying the original
I've already been pulled for that today , was hoping he wasn't bothered . Tacked a few of them in , going to be a bit of a squeeze for the last 2 on the top row .has anyone got any suggestions how to weld these ? There just tacked at the minute. As for the squareness a few well executed bounces sorted that

Pretty much just use big tacks front and back on the scrolls.
Well it looks OK to me 
, out of interest what size bar did you use. Was discussing gates and like with Kent today and got on to the topic of the cheap stuff around, thin etc. But I must admit that, I think it depends on the environment, not weather but where it is used environment.
A heavy gate shutting with speed can take a kids fingers, a thin gate may clatter, but will probably mean grazed skin, so interested in sizes used and where used to build up an idea.
Anyway for first go good to my eyes.

I personally don't like scrolls but I think you've done a really good job replicating the original
The gates is made from 25x3 flat bar , bought 30m from eBay if you bought more than 2 you got 40 percent off or something. Think this gate weighs about 15kg maybe .as for the hinges they're 6mm plate . Hope this helpsWell it looks OK to me

Neither do I now , don't think I'll be doing any more of these , made 18 of them and each one had to be cut and re welded. Think I'm going to stick to simpler designs after this. Appreciate the feedback though

Top marks for making the scrolls, being a first go at making a gate I had assumed you would have bought them. (not that I have ever made a scroll or a metal gate)

Scrolls are OK in the right place and not in the wrong one imo. Knowing which and were is the hard bit

Very good for a first gate, if you are brush painting you will deffo hate scrolls by the time you are finished.
I have made hundreds of gates over the years and always hoped the customer would want something art deco or just not with scrolls but 95% wanted 'some nice scrolls that the dog can't get through'....yuk.
