Total newbie here and have been lurking for a few days waiting for kit to arrive. Brilliant forum that's definitely influenced a lot of my equipment choices and given me a lot of great tips!
Picked up my Hobbyweld 5 this morning and after "safing" the garage a bit I got a few practice beads down.
1 and 2 were done on the R-Tech MIG180 recommended settings (Volts 3.5 / Wire Speed 5.5) and I thought it might have been a bit proud, so I turned up the volts to 4.5 and the puddle seems to sit flatter. Hobbyweld 5 running at 14L/min throughout (using flowmeter).
Think I might have been on the verge of blowing through on 5/6 (IIRC I was holding quite close, and moving pretty slow), and 10 being close to the edges of the sheet/bar looks a bit crummy.
Looking forward to some critique! Got a few projects in mind - first up being a cart for the equipment. I'd also like to make a fire pit for a mate out of sheet material.
