Just getting back into welding for small projects and fun. I was running .030 wire, 4 power setting and 30 wire speed on 75/25 argon. The three beads were first passes then I started welding pieces together. Other than the obvious need of need for more practice, any other suggestions for heat, wire speed, move faster slower? The metal I was practicing on was 11 gauge mild steel.

Clean the metal back to bright, bump the wire up a bit and focus on just running straight beads, no need for the movement to try and get those dimes...not yet anyway, I will admit I like that sort of result on some joints but to get back into it, straight beads are more than enough.
Don't know how many voltage settings you have but assume 4 is either max or somewhere near the max? Bump the wire up til you feel it pushing the torch back, then tweak it down til that stops, try that setting for a bit, if you are burning through either turn it back down a smidge or pick the travel speed up a bit, if you aren't getting enough penetration and you have more voltage to use, click it up another 1 then do the same with the wire again.
Play about with settings till you find one that works, but the weaving is going to hide some stuff and won't necessarily produce a stronger weld until you know the settings are bob on and technique is there
