i have tried welding before without much success but i have bought my own welder to have a go at welding my mk2 golf
i tacked a plate on the other night then today cleaned it up and had a go at welding properly. before i tackled car i had a practice and seemed to get penetration on a lot but also burnt through a lot
so bit the bullet and went for it on the car went ok was not pretty but it was on then i hit a bit where it just blew through but on closer inspection it was rust that was blowing away so cut it out and made a new plate and tacked that in
the thing i noticed was the penetration it was there but not like i see on here from the people that can weld so wondering what to do to improve
i have a siegen 130 mini mig the power is set to min and wire speed is 4 or 5what do i need to do to get better penetration or is it just practice and technique
cheers
