First attempt with new welder, rate my efforts please.
Well I finally got around to sorting out my new Clarke 150TE only to find the batteries had gone in my welding helmet! I wouldnt mind but I bought the helmet new, used it for a few hours ( 1 set of evening classes ) put it back in the box and forgot about it!
Anyway....not too pleased with the results. It seemed a lot easier at college using an industrial machine...bad workman and all that, you get what you pay for! The gas was from a disposable bottle and I could only hear the gas when the regulator was on full. It was also outside and the wind was getting up....excuses excuses!
So, this is a sheet of 20g steel and it was vertical for first pic then laid on the floor for 2nd pics.
Had trouble trying to get the sizzling bacon sound but in the end settled on low power, rotary switch on 1 and a wire feed of between 5-6.
Vertical.
Front.
Rear.
On Floor, Front.
Rear.
Will have a go at joining some pieces tomorrow. Gas is giving up so am on the look out for a pub CO2 bottle or may even treat myself to some proper stuff from BOC...eek!
All feedback welcomed.
