First Attempt at Mig Welding with pics

Hi All,

Im still a neewb at all this. Have recently purachsed a brit arc (made by tec arc, york) and am having a go at trying to weld. Having got some gas I spent the day practising on the old front slam panel of my project.

After playing around with settings and blowing a few holes i think i got the set up right and was getting more consistent, which was good as I was running out of space on the pannel.

Ive added some pics below of the last few I made, any feedback would be massively appreciated as I say I'm new to all this and any advice before i turn the torch on my beloved project would be sweet!

First pic shows the welds second pic shows penetration on opposite side (ignore the bottom few I lowered the voltage to see how it affected the penetration)

You don't need to get much better than you have done with middle weld in top picture.

Nice thanks guys, yeah I was well pleased with that middle one, think ill practice some more get them as consistent as I can and get some practice butt welding before touching the project

You could show up a lot of people who weld for a living with those welds, let alone some who post on here.

You have the machine setup spot on, just need to practice your speed.

they look very good, if a little too much on the back side which would be from going a little slow, but backing the voltage off like the lower welds works too.
