Ok guys so before you rofl please note i dont have anyone traching me or showing me what to do just got my stuff anf started welding lol first impressions lol cant seem to keep a stable arc
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_P7k0CDx5cWK1dJBI2EOyEq7bHN_YdCIAny advice on how to keep the right hight for thr arc ??
I started this wayDon't be afraid to use both hands, one holding the electrode holder, the other supporting the welding rod, or one hand supporting the other.
It helps if you can brace your body against the bench or your vice.
Lots of beginners find it easier to learn with half length rods, it's wasteful but if it gets you over your initial hesitancy, so what.
Naturally a good pair of comfortable gloves is a given.
Best of luck, with practise, you'll get there.
Try using 100 AmpsOh using 6013s 2.5 mm x 300 mmbrand is toolpak
That's why I had to patch my gloves with an heavy glove on the left handas youve been asked what arc welder are you using ?
for starting and controlling the rod end I put my left hand in front of the work piece close enough so when hand is stood up its 4" high and rest the long rod on it with other hand i can control the push alot easier
I suffer from nerves that long rod goes everywhere
as its been quoted ive seen some hold the welding rod half way down to weld but you need good gloves as that rod does get hot
im using a sip 90 and also a oxford oil welder 2.5s from esab at around 70 amps
