So today I finally managed to get my first project finished. I got bored of just running beads so thought, to hell with it, I may as well make a mess of something fun.
Started out as 3 brand new VW rims, middle one had the face cut out. Great fun. Few bits of flat bar as legs. 3mm plate cut on the CNC laser at work to fit. The chimney was a lump of old water pipe for a sprinkler system we removed at work. Took nearly an hour to remove the paint using a fairly ignorant wire wheel on the grinder. It's round 80 years old and in good nick considering.
So, I'm fairly happy with how. It turned out. It ain't pretty (some of the welds are) but it's all stuck together and now one piece. Just needs a lick of paint
Anyone any ideas for a next project?
