you might have seen an old school burnt to the ground in haverhill suffolk the other evening

anyway, news lists 17 engines attended from x.y.z all in suffolk , including woodbridge and orford , theyre more than 2 hrs away in a car lol

we happen to be in a corner that almost touches cambridgeshire and essex yet none of those could attend that are 20 mins away

I don't know about fire-engines, but lawn-mowers certainly seem respectful of boundaries...

They do - but they need asking and perhaps Suffolk considered it not necessary? FOI request to Suffolk?

Mutual assistance is more needed now that it ever has been.. But it largely depends of the type of fire and workload of the neighbouring Brigade.
Stourbridge if often backing up into Staffordshire on first attendance.

Warwickshire turns out to West Mids and vice versa.
But more rural Brigades might have a different arrangement.

Also was that on a Make up or just relief crews.

No direct involvement with the fire service but I have worked on a few of their buildings in the North East and Humberside

Humberside covers an area far beyond what would be considered Humberside, even before it all changed

I watched the recent documentary about the Windsor Castle fire, they had pumps from all over. That may have been more about the property owner. High profile and all that.
