As in you have something like a machine you want to bolt to a bench or a baseplate or something and you want to mark the holes accurately for drilling.
A pencil or a sharpie down the hole doesn't work. What you need is a centre punch the exact same size as the hole.
After ages of searching I cam across something called a transfer punch. They come in sets but nearly always imperial.
Then I found this
