Finding scrap cheap

I have got a load of old horseshoes if you want any. All steel so maybe no use for melting down.

They get in my way so I offer them free to collectors or about £1/kg posted but that's probably more than you can buy scrap for.

That's them, they do tend to be the best payers but it's such a ball ache getting to Rotherwas. Their yard is a mess too, I know someone who ended replacing two tyres on an Ifor after taking scrap there. He would have been better off if he hadn't taken the scrap.

thats happend to me before and more than once, I won't go in there with a trailer or 4x4 as its not worth the tyers abbye scarp up the road is easyer for me dont pay quite as well but closer easyer to get to and not had a puncture there yet

You might get some useful scrap from Freecycle.

Unfortunately most of that will be going in the scrap bin.
Feel a bit guilty but the internals will be rehomed So I can shoehorn it onto my lathe.
Must way 70kg

Indeed. Paid a score for the gearbox.
Didn't realise it was such a lump.
The gubbins will be put to work on a smart and brown model M so not all is lost.
1024 is on my list.
When I move and have the room il have one.
All there lathes are good looking.
Also have an L in progress.

Good stuff, to keep the thread topical I picked up my 1024 for about 33p/kg didn't need it, just had to rescue it and it looks awesome
