Filtration to filter paint odours HELP!.

Hello everyone,

Just curious on what kind of filtration is used to reduce the smell of paint fumes.

I was told to use carbon filters but when I search them on google or eBay, all I seem to get is cooker hood filters showing up. The size of the filter I need isn't much bigger than the size of a cooker hood filter so would I be doing the right thing in ordering one of them or is there a certain filter to use? If so where do I get them from?

spose it depends what youre doing , a cooker hood size filter is prob enough for painting toy cars

just do a search on hydroponics as they use a lot of large carbon filters to remove the smell of what they are growing,

if you are spraying, cooker hood type filters will block up in no time, I think you will find it hard to get rid of the paint smell, the were some simple running water type filters where the fumes pass through a running wall of water and the water collected the fumes you could try making one it would probably be the cheapest running cost

Ours is drawn up through a water spray, through a filter like the ones linked above then though a second filter the same before going though a bioreactor thats a good 25m tall and it still smells. Think you are fighting a loosing battle!

So I guess it would just be a waste of money trying to attempt to filter smell without spending big bucks and still hardly getting good results?!

Brightspark - the size of the garage I believe is 10ft by 21ft.

I have a couple of projects I'm working on and I will be clear coating them with 2k lacquer and will be trying my hands at a bit of airbrushing so I'd say the amount of use would be frequent.
