Say you have a structural member made of 2mm steel which is still sound but is showing heavy pitting.
Would filling those pits with mig (after fully cleaning in acid) increase or decrease the structural integrity of the part?
On a simplistic level I'm thinking more metal bonded with the structure has to help, but then the modification of the surrounding metal must have some effect?
