I'm starting in Tig welding and purchased two different sizes of filler rods and two different sizes of tungsten. 1/16 (1.6mm) and 3/32 (2.6mm) for each.
When using 2.6mm tungsten, the smaller filler rod goes super fast into the pool and is very easy to work with while larger filler takes longer and I'm struggling with it, which is absolutely due to my lack of skills for now!
The question is this, does filler rod size have to match the tungsten size?
Ps. All learning is using DC on 4-6mm stainless.
Thank you!
