I'd guess it fast grown timber that is common these days. Better grade posts and proper creosote would be my choice but you wont get the light coloured wood look. The client wanted the wooden fence look but was unhappy about the lifespan, I am not sure what it is that’s eating anything wood buried in the ground on this site but it makes very short work of the posts. It’s way too expensive to keep replacing this so I eliminated the problem with the spurs, doesn’t look too shabby

What's known as the dew point exists just below the ground and for nine inches or so above , it's where the humidity in the air condenses into dew almost every morning and evening . Posts don't last long if untreated every few years .Even the tanalized post rerelast over 9 years if not re treated. The client wanted the wooden fence look but was unhappy about the lifespan, I am not sure what it is that’s eating anything wood buried in the ground on this site but it makes very short work of the posts. Timber that is kiln dried and impregnated with preservative under vacuum tend to have the wood cells greatly expanded and they stay open after drying in the kiln , moisture seeps in easily and brings in rot /mould spored quite deeply when the poles boards get wet .I'd guess it fast grown timber that is common these days. Better grade posts and proper creosote would be my choice but you wont get the light coloured wood look.
