Hi folks
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'll do introductions in a bit, first I'd appreciate thoughts on Femi 782XL options
Stakesys are kinda the default choice but they're charging £589 inc VAT (https://stakesys.co.uk/metal-cuttin...i-782xl-swivel-head-portable-bandsaw-230-volt)
Lineonline, who i've not heard of, have it at £494 inc at https://www.lineonline.co.uk/miter-saw-femi-782-xl-band-saw.html
and Verkter will take €378 inc VAT and UK shipping at https://www.verkter.com/en/metal-band-saw-machine-femi-782xl-8483622.html
Obvs Stakesys are a known quantity and the safest if anything goes wrong but ~£200 is a hell of a premium to pay for that, unless the others are too good to be true, and just supply a brick in a box.
Currently cutting everything (2-6mm mild steel angle/box/flat/tube) with angle grinders: the need for a bandsaw is obvious. Attraction of the Femi 782xl is the easy conversion to vertical as I'm also cutting a lot of small parts (again, currently with an angle grinder) but other options are welcome (bit too small to clamp and cut with a jigsaw). Must be portable - there is no workshop - everything is either out the back of a car or a leaky greenhouse at best, fettled 6x4s aren't an option
Would really appreciate any thoughts on suppliers or altenative cutting options
Matt
ps. oh, introductions - self taught stick, put a couple hundred kgs through a parweld xts163, almost entirely 6010/6013, small holding agricultural, lately trying some oak & steel etsy nonsense
