Milwaukee useless in my opinion.
Cheaply made crap. Chuck crap on the drills, batteries die left right and centre.

Maybe I’m biased, but I’d take my old snap on brushed stuff over it any day.

My Snap On branded Metabo cordless grinder is pretty decent for cordless.

The only Milwaukee tool i like is the sawzall.

The only excperience I have with Fein is their multitool, it is indeed quite a long way above the competitors offerings.
I am a Hitachi/Hikoki man myself, the only thing I do not have from them is the multitool.
Tried both of them side by side in the shop, and even though the Fein was quite a bit more expensive i bought it right there and then.

Magnet drills are also very good, as is their range of stationary grinders (branded GRIT by Fein) in the Netherlands

I changed from a Bosch to a Fein Multitool, 240v powered as it's for DIY and not site use so access to mains isn't an issue. Only thing I'd change about it is I either missed out on the Starlock Plus tool change system or didn't understand what it meant at the time and avoided the extra expense On mine you release the clamp, slide out the tool holding pin, change tools and reverse. On the Starlock Plus you do the lever bit but instead of a pin there's a two-piece jaw system so you just drop the tool off, close the lever and click the new one into place, quick as.
As far as the tool goes it's great, quiet (for a multitool), low-vibration and maintains speed brilliantly. Yes they're pricey but worth every penny.

I do want to give Fein a go but they don’t look like they’ve got the ergonomics down just yet, they’re quite bulky compared to the likes of a metabo which are very comfortable in the hand.

I ordered 4 WSG 8-115 grinders a few months ago to replace some makitas, yes they are a little more bulky but even for me, I have girly small hands and I found them pretty nice. I'd definitely have one for myself, the build quality is vastly superior to Makita/Milwaukee.

Metabo grinders are gone crap we used to buy nothing else but they just don’t last anymore. We use dewalt corded and Milwaukee cordless now .
We have fein for our polishing gear and it’s old but brilliant only issue we’ve had was the cord broke going into the polisher but simple shorten and reattach and it’s back perfect.

Metabo grinders are the best, you have just to understand which one you need
I have a 1250W one that I don't use every day but when I need it I use it for several hours with no problems
I have also a 180mm metabo grinder that has an electronic CPU that controls the output power ,more load ,more amps ,more rpm more power
I also have a rotary hammer from Metabo that I use to core drilling with 125mm diamond core drill
No problems
Fein are just amazing tools and are pretty more expensive than Metabo but grinders there is no way metabo is the top
Tell me what you want but there is a reason why they call themselves
"Metabo the king of grinders"
And from my experience with their products I think it's true
But anyway , every brand has his own specific kind of tools where they produce the top of the category

That's because Milwaukee invented this tool so they had plenty of time to update it and make it great

matter of opinion really but iv been doin steel work the last 16 year and iv used most makes and models . And in the last 3year metabo quality has dropped in my experience we don’t go by prices when buying our equipment we go by we explain what we need to our suppliers and match our gear to the job . Iv used 1 dewalt to 4 metabo and the metabo are dearer louder and less comfortable. they may claim to be the best and in some people’s opinion maybe they are but as far as I’m concerned they are putting all there quality into there cordless range and there corded are slipping.

I can't say that are not louder,but comfort wise I can say that I feel comfortable with but this is not an objective factor , from people to people this will change
Now seriously talking grinders are disposables in metal working environment
As every tool they will break at some point , but it's the way they break that makes the difference
I did read somewhere that new metabo eat carbon brushes ,and I had not that issue because in two years I might use only 3mm of the total carbon brushes length .
Never felt any loss of power ...
About quality loss during the years yes it's possible but what didn't ?
I'm not going to lie ,I had to take my grinder to the repair service after few days I bought but wasn't a major issue it was leaking grease but after that it's grinding and cutting since October 2017

The WE 19-180 RT Quick had no problems and I bought it in October 2018
About cordless ,metabo has the best technology , Hitachi or hikoki same thing because they acquired metabo , and probably the quality leak is because of that .
Generally how long does last a new metabo grinder? Where it fails?

DeWalt I would like to try the 125mm 1500W model but I always eard that are just rubbish because are heavy and the bearings don't last

If you’re comparing a Metabo to a dewalt you’ve been using the wrong metabos.

If you buy a £50 Metabo it’s going to be worse or no better than a £50 dewalt.

My 1700w 5” is a beast, but it was £160.

It is noisy (normal from seeing other people’s), but there is very low vibration and it has tonnes of power.

Don’t get me wrong I had a 110v dewalt from Screwfix about 8+ years ago for £55 and it died a few weeks back. It took some serious abuse. But I very much doubt you’ll get a dewalt now that lasts the same.

Jersey was fairly strick on 110v tools and never felt like going back to 240.
Dragging leads around houses and gardens with 13 amp plugs seems wrong.

Every manufacturer will have cheap and expensive versions of tools.

110V are not very different than 230V same specs but different windings
Usually are twice the thickness ,and half of number ,this means more current but being half the voltage the power is the same
I don't really know how longer they last than 230V but I know that induction motors last longer when used with 400V rather than when used with 230V
So my thoughts are that lower the current that flows in the windings longer the life of the tool
But in Italy we have not 110V , anyway we have rupes that produces 48V tools that requires 50A to work and those tools are practically impossible to get killed
So it's possible
