what is this for just to move earth, i mean does it go deep under ground with the head unit ??? what i mean is, is it for digging or for shifting piles
just cant imagine the the lorrys keeping up with it, looks like it can scoop a ton in each bucket, and i cant work out what the damaged building is looks like some sort of site office its scooped up

this type of machine would normally have been used for stripping overburden during opencast mining, but I'm not too sure what project this one was engaged on.
It did a grand job of hoisting that Caterpillar dozer aloft as though it was a toy on a ferris wheel and I'd bet that somebody was out of a job after that #*#~up

The chassis of the main section is 46 metres wide and sits on 3 rows of 4 caterpillar track assemblies, each 3.8 m wide. It has a minimum turning radius of approximately 100 metres

The pic I posted was the one built by Krupp, in the pic crossing a road in Germany en route to its destination (an open-pit coal mine), it is cheaper to drive the thing like this, than to construct or re-assemble on-site.
