I would go for one of those big self tapping roofing hex bolts. Trim it to size so it doesn't reach the gel or plates, hope the fixing is a simple plate probably swaged onto the terminal. Either the screw will force the terminal to expand slightly to tighten up the join or it might grip onto the connecting plate depending on what exactly that is (or it might just not work either way).
Heating it up and "pouring" solder into it sounds a bit fraught if you ask me. It will freeze instantly or melt the plastic unless you really know what you're doing. I am interested in that idea but unless you've tried it before, best left to someone who has.
