Fault code reader for Ford?

The wife's car a Ford Fusion 04 with 70,000ish miles on it has thrown on the engine fault code light,

Any suggestions for a sensibly priced reader that will also reset fault codes.

Plus advice on a place to buy one from Amazon, Fleabag, or a UK supplier please?

I have fordiag (works well) and a working copy of IDS with a VCM2 on a dedicated laptop... Both have their place. The latter is really a toolbox as well as a code reader.

Don't know why I still have them as I run a GM now

ive got forscan i use on the laptop , came with software and a lead for about £20 on ebay , seems to do alot if you know to use it fully

o4 focus so should be similar to yours

I have a cheap orange eBay code reader that kept my POS Zafira on the road (mostly) for 5 years.....
Cost about £25.

I used to use an Obd 2 device, Bluetooth it with the free Torque app on my phone, to find codes on my old 2003 Primers. They are £20 ish.

that is fulfilled by amazon you can send it back easily if it does not work.

Get the latest version of Forscan from the website, it is free software.

I have Forscan with an Elm reader and a clone Ford IDS, Forscan also works with Mazda.

yes dozens of live data , was playing with it today , can choose a readout in numbers or a scope style graph

awesome, ive a ford focus 1.6 diesel that's playing silly buggers so could do with the live data to see whats going on.

looks like I will need to get a vcm to reprogram my abs module nothing else will do it
if you are willing to sell your vcm (I have a laptop so do not require one)
I would like to go down that route of an interface that is known to be working rather than buy something unknown

A rip off full Ford diagnostic kit that runs just the ford program which includes key, pump and injector reprogramming only costs about £300 including the toughbook pooter loaded with an up to date version of autodata. Way better than a code reader, its been a real life saver over the years
