Fastmover sprayguns

Which of the fastmover spray guns is worth bothering with ? Tonight I mixed up 2k epoxy to spray some bike parts using one of those cheapy guns from aldi or lidl, one of the green ones. It gave me trouble the last time I used it but tonight it wouldn't spray more than a tiny amount no matter what I did. Lost my rag with the thing and chucked it in the bin.
The local paint suppliers stock fastmover guns, so I am going to drop in in the morning and see what they have.

Anyone have a particular model they'd recommend for general use ?

The 1.3/1.4/1.8 LVLP gun (FMT3006) is decent. The 1.8 would be ideal for epoxy primer, 1.3 for basecoat and clear.

From your other thread though if your main use is frames and small things I would be looking to get a mini gun.

Bought a fastmover mini gun this morning, very happy with it, its the perfect size for getting into the hard reach spots of a bike frame. The fastmovers seem to be good value.

I find I use the mini gun for all work now unless it's a full panel. As you say very good useability.

I bought a fast mover mini gun from hugspaint on ebay a couple of years ago and it is a special piece of kit very handy for touching up and blowing in. I always say I'm going to get another for spare just in case but keep using the present one and never had any problems with it. It uses very little pressure and gives a good finish on base and clear.

Pedro, i just used mine for the first time tonight and i am extremely happy how the job went and the gun itself. As you say it uses next to no air (compressor only kicked in twice in an hour), doesn't seem to make much overspray and is easy to clean. The only bad thing i have to say about it is the air screw in the base of the handle is a pain, as i seem to manage to catch it with my little finger everytime i pick the gun up, turning off the air.

It was hobsons choice, the only ones they had in stock was 0.8, so i took it anyway.

I bought one of the Bergen 0.8mm mini guns to paint an engine bay using a thick two part epoxy, wasn't sure if the paint would be too thick for the small nozzle but it managed surprisingly well. Best bit was the minimal overspray, most of the paint went on the job so there was very little wastage. Ideal size for bike bits.

Yup, i was able to get inside the frame rails and at all the fiddly little brackets and bits of tubes used as engine mounting points on the bsa frames with the little mini gun. I did get a good finish on the frame, but on one of the fork shrouds i was doing at the same time, i got a run that should be in the guinness book of records
