I needed a switch for a friend’s Dremel 3000. Some of the prices were stupidly expensive. Then I found Beesleys Tools. Part arrived next day, very well packed and an original part. I expected a clone at the price but it was sealed in a Bosch box. Worth a look if you parts.

Following on from this thread I thought I’d give a bit of praise to ACCU fasteners

Ordered yesterday at 4pm didn’t pay for next day delivery but they turned up today at 10am labelled up and even packed in size order from m2.5 to m12

What’s great is the site let’s you keep adding fasteners and the price comes down in accordance to what your real time ordering as opposed to 100, 1000 etc I only needed x1 M3 grub screw

I've just registered on the strength of your experience, but there is a problen with the 'user' (me). Was interested in ordering m5 set screws via the search box and it came up with grub screws. Where am I going wrong?

Look under 'bolts' and then 'full thread bolts'.

Accu uses 'set screw' = 'grub screw'. Others use 'set screw' = 'full thread bolt'. In both cases, the 'full thread' part is true, but one has a head and the other does not. Tomato potato.

Hex head set screw - fully threaded screw, with, funnily enough, a hexagon head
Socket head cap screw . . . betcha can't guess what that is . . .

I might be lucky - local fastener supplier who I can call up, go visit and hand over cash to get what I want. Also supplies work too.

I've used them a couple of times, really quick service. I got some lovely little stainless raised-countersunk slotted screws, when I was going for 'the look' on my old hot rod.

Westfield Fasteners always seem to manage next day delivery, even though they just use Royal Mail. Good website for non-experts as well.

I'll second that - sorted me loads of times for some quite obscure imperial stuff (73 Lotus Europa)

All sorts of other theories floating about. All that then changes is the head style. Among the usual standards. Automotive seem to go wandering off on their own , as do aerospace. Ie to get suitable plain shank length of the cap heads securing the inner CV joints to diffs on my Lancia, I need to buy a longer bolt, and cut the thread down to match the originals.
