Fair fuel price campaign, URGENT !!

Got my letter back from my mp, another one to add to the long list, hasnt confirmed their attendance though as yet.
Could not belive it this morning went to the sainsburys garage, and they had put thier diesel UP by 1ppl, while all else are dropping theirs 140.9 now, it is a disgrace if the fair fuel campaign dont achive anything, then at least all the avenues have been covered, so the blockades could be reintroduced if needed.

If the yanks go into Iran we will need ALL the fuel we can get to keep the emergency services going, I recon the backlash from the mad mulllers in this country would make the 'Irish troubles' look like a walk in the park.
I am afraid to say, it would give them the mandate to attack us like no other really.

Hi Guys,quick update, I received a very official two page letter in response from my MP on House of Commons headed paper, berates Mr Cameron, tory policy, etc,(only to be expected as he is a labour MP) and promises to work with his backbench colleagues and put the case for keeping fuel prices down as far as possible and will be following the debate on the 15th.

As said originally might not achieve anything, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

A spokesman from the Fairfuel campaign was on Radio 4 this morning so the media is aware of the debate tomorrow. Believe it or not there was some other clown on the program advocating an INCREASE in fuel duty to increase the tax intake from people with large cars that use more fuel but can afford to pay it !! Which was obviously countered by the question "what about the people on lower incomes that can't " ?

I live kent and am lucky to have a place about 25 miles away that makes bio diesel from waste cooking oil.i drive an older diesel car that loves the stuff. its about 1.10 a ltre. Now thinking about makeing my own fuel. May even get rid of some of my live stock and start growing rape seed oil every 4 years. I just hate the thought of all that vat and tax that we pay just to do simple things like go to work to pay more tax and to go the shops and get food

Well the Fairfuel campaign has achieved a minor victory in the war against high fuel tax, I'm sure many of you will have heard that the chancellors autumn statement announced that the January rise has been cancelled and the planned August rise has been reduced.
This is very welcome but more pressure needs to be applied to the government to get this issue sorted out once and for all.
The Fairfuel campaign has proved that a properly organised and supported protest can achieve results so let's not rest on our laurels now, let's all try to gather more support for the campaign so that even more public and commercial pressure can be applied to government to reduce fuel tax much further.
It benefits us all in the long run.

not quite 87pence, ---a litre. he needs to be very very kind and knock off 53 pence a litre.

Done and i`ll encourage anyone i know to do the same. I`ve found it puzzling for quite some time how accepting people are of the extortionate cost of fuel.

Just heard on the news that Osbourne has cancelled the planned 3 pence per ltr duty hike in August !!! Of course he's claiming praise for this without mentioning the immense pressure that the Fair Fuel campaign has exerted on the government and the support it had from MP's !! What a result !! So it does prove that government can be persuaded to bow to public oppinion !

Signing things won't get anything done about it.

I've not been to a forecourt since 2008 as I make my own biodiesel (10 pence per litre and no duty payable on 2500l per 12 rolling months). It's a hassle, messy, has required highly intimate acquaintance with my car's fuel system as well as finding suitable chemical suppliers, specialist household insurance (existing insurer dropped me like a hot brick when I started storing drums of Methanol!), generating an Environment Agency audit trail etc, but it sure beats signing another petition on the subject while carrying on paying duty at the forecourt!
