im not sure, i know they do the factory inductions for drivers collecting new cranes there and there is usually a lot of kit on display or being tested/trained on. last time i was there ther ewere building a 650t mobile crane on full luffer for the lads taking it away to familiarise themselves with it.

I visited the Vat 69 distillery/blending plant in South Queensferry circa 1979. I can't say it was hugely inspirational apart from seeing two enormous tanks about 30 feet tall and 20 feet diameter...and being invited to taste the "caramel" they used to colour it - the caramel was incredibly bitter, and each tank received a 2 gallon pail - quite some dilution rate. the only other interesting point was that in order to ensure consistency of the blend they relied on a panel of "noses" (people with an acute sense of smell as repetitive tasting was thought to be not entirely sensible!)

Otherwise, I had a personal guided tour of Land Rover by the marketing director back in 2002 - I even got to see the "top-secret" department for bespoke commissions and special vehicles - all very James Bond, hand over your phones etc though sadly some vehicles were totally screened off.

Visited the Sandeman port facility a couple of weeks back.

They do quite a range and testing them all took its toll.

Leyland trucks, remember them? Factory tour of there was very interesting, 33 years ago when I was 18 on a trip to Manchester as a tech student!

Some of the F1 teams do tours and given that they are mostly based in one area (Milton Keynes?) you could spend a few days visiting them.

Malcolm Wilson motorsport do tours and are very good if you are interested in cars or engineering.

McConnell do tours too where they make agricultural machinery.

Torness nuclear power station does tours, need to book at least 2 weeks in advance so they can do security checks. Cruachan hydro also does tours as does Drax power station.

Cruachan tours are suspended while they do all the upgrades.

Berkeley nuclear power station didn't have such checks. I accidentally drove into the site through an open barrier, round a traffic island and back out. No one stopped me. Worrying thing was that I had 5KG of black powder in the back of my car in a labelled box.

I went to service a robot at BNFL lots of AEC police on the entrance, I had to list what tools, spares etc. I was carrying in my car at the gate house then wait for my escort who didn't leave my side all day. Once I had finished I expected him to come with me to the gate, but he just checked I knew my way back to the gate, when I got there I was expecting a thorough search of the car, they just waved me through.

Did the Sandeman sherry tour in Jerez. Much more to making sherry than you might think.
Jerez the home of sherry they're all in the same town not all do tours but Sandeman range very quaffable and although the tour was interesting the Gonzales byass samples not so tasty and certainly not free!

Edit. and certainly not in the UK.
But worth a visit to the town if your anywhere near.

I had all the relevant paperwork and transport documents with me. I had just got lost exploring the area. I was too early to get into Berkeley castle. I was doing the live action special effects there.

The "Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum", Worth the trip. It was beyond my expectation ! ! !
More than a hundred bikes and thousands of items in immaculate, and unbelievably dust free condition.
Sammy still gives talks in the workshop section about the bike restorations taking place, and answers questions you might have.
Plenty of videos on YouTube, but you have to see the place for your self to really appreciate it.
