Apologies if this is a bit off-topic but I've never heard this before. I was just watching a youtube video from one of my favourite welding-related channels (chucke2009) and he said two things about the gas bottle/regulator:
- you should never stand in front of the regulator as it stands a chance of exploding, and
- the valve on the bottle itself should be either fully on or fully off, if half-on it may not seal properly
Is this true? I've never heard of this before and I always only turn my bottle on 'a bit' - until the pressure goes up on the gauge - rather than fully open.
Sorry if it's a weird/pointless topic for a thread but I want to know if I've been doing it wrong all this time now
