I'm struggling at the moment with health but I've cleaned out a room here that had car.parts in boxes and now it can be worked on, when my mate is free all the stuff can go to the unit and be sorted there, in a few weeks my garage should be tidy again which means room to get a car worked on and get another chopped up for spares, I feel a tidy garage will get my brain more organised

I would say be realistic about the Capris as well. Do honestly believe you will ever do anything with them? It's easy to convince yourself that it will happen but the number of cars I have seen or know of that end up scrapped or punted on tells the real story. I know, I was one of them.

I recently bought a Sunbeam Alpine that had been a spares donor for an old mate many years ago. I had it in the shed for about a year until I decided I needed the space more than the car, similarly didn't lose anything. New owner took the usable bits off it and scrapped the rest. I didn't feel any connection to that, even though it had belonged to an old mate who had since died, just a lot of work. Each time I've told someone that it's gone, they've said "yes, I thought when I saw it that it was only good for weighing in".

I have found a local charity shop that's asking for (or is prepared to accept) ornaments of the type that my parents seemed to like to amass. I've been putting them in boxes in the loft in an "out of sight, out of mind" way. Once my sister has checked them over, that's a lot of stuff that can go, things I didn't want to just stick in the bin.

Don't you think it's all gone a bit far now? I grew up on sites using bog roll and insulating tape for worse.

I still do that - very effective.

That's probably a very fair price as well I'd say given the way these old Ford's seem to sell today? Most sellers would try for more.
