That's an epic start, MTF. It's really tough getting rid of parent's stuff but knowing it will go to a good home really helps. You're doing the right thing letting someone else have the enjoyment of them.

I think it is very easy to hold onto things that have a perceived sentimental value but often they lock you in the past and prevent forward movement.
As difficult as it sometimes is, I try to think of myself as a custodian of physical items and regardless of monetary value, once something no longer serves any use it is time to find it a new home where it will be enjoyed.
The challenge with overwhelming clutter is that it prevents use and enjoyment of those things I actually do want to keep.
