I've a bit more to do with this but I need to get some tig brazing rods. The bits i've already brazed were done with gas rods and they were a pain. The nose and lips were cast from old mig tips.

I experimented and made a mould from modroc with this (I used papier mache for the torso sculptures) It held up quite well for tacking up the main bit but casting the copper pretty much trashed it. The slugs aren't the best thing to use either there's just too many curves in a face for the size of them even the small ones that's why ended having a go at casting the copper.

If you look I put quite a lot of the punchings in a simple flower pattern because I thought it would look a bit like a sugar skull, but they didn't stand out very well so I brazed over the top of them. I am beginning to wish I hadn't because it's been a pain and there are a couple more to do but I can't go back now.

The overall structure is finished, it just wants a bit more brazing and a stand of some description making (and typing this i've just remembered that i've got the perfect thing, cheers bud for jolting my appalling memory
)

Not the best pic, but this is pretty much finished I really went off the brazing and ground it off. The spine is an offcut from some steel flooring.

Where do you get the slugs from ?
From work, I'd love to get some stainless ones but we rarely use it.
