those pistons are tiny, i always thought they would be big massive "muckuled hings",
Bear in mind that F1 engines are only 2.5/3 litres in capacity. Looks like an incredibly short stroke, that's why they can rev to 19000 rpm.
They are amazing a V10 turning near 18k RPM.

I guess it's not all that suprising really, IIRC back when the Ford Focus WRC was introduced i read something about the problems they were having due to the exhaust gas temps... parts melting or taking a 'set' upon cooling and having to be replaced and they ended up using some really exotic alloy and cladding with manifolds running to 5 figures!!

From the look of those heads, they would have taken hours (if not days!) on the CNC mill!
