Any suggestions on best way to set this scenario up?
We have created a "master en-suite" by knocking together 2 bedrooms. In the new en-suite portion we have 2 areas:
Area 1 is open to the bedroom and includes a freestanding bath
Area 2 is accessed from area 1 but is separated by a stud partition and includes shower/toilet
Building control want extraction over the bath as well as in the shower room but as both areas are attached to the bedroom and independent of each other I am reluctant to fit the normal timer extractor that comes on with the light as it will be on too often and wake me up everytime the missus goes to the loo in the middle of the night
We have loft space above the room and ideally both vents would exit to one external opening in the eaves
Options I am considering:
1. I have seen humidistat extractors but not sure if these could work independently of the light switch and how "reliable" they are. They would then need to extract into a "common" duct (probably use soil pipe) that routes to external exit. If I go down this route I could power them independently but would then need seperate isolation switches for each I think.
2. Use a fan mounted in the loft space that extracts from both areas, but how would I switch this - can I get one that triggers from individual humidistats, 1 in each room.
Any other thoughts that allow me to have two extraction points but not fans that are noisy at night?
Hope the above makes sense without diagrams
Cheers,
MM
