Yep, I’ve got 115CFM and it takes long enough. You’d want a few hundred CFM and a bloody big nozzle.you would still be there forever blasting it using a 90cfm comp and a 6.0mm jet

Yep, I’ve got 115CFM and it takes long enough. For the sake of £350 a day just get a proper guy in with the right kit.
Blimey they charge more than that down here @8ob.Fixed that for you Brad

you’d be looking at £350 for a few hours blasting some architectural metalwork, not a day. We’ve got the kit we need for the scale we do. Full hodge clemco setup.
Thats culture for you!! Up here its a slab o' Tennants!!Just got my old anvil stand blasted (now a parasol base) in exchange for a bottle of wine![]()

well u cant expect him to clean up for that priceWe have a man in a van that comes out with a two tool compressor and all the kit/grit for £350 a day, takes a day to clean up after he's gone

The supafine is even worseIt's a pig awful job grit blasting on a big scale. I've a proper Hodge Clemco and two tool compressor set up, but I do everything possible to avoid using it!
. . . and the clear up . . . sections of my rear yard look like the beach, only it's actually crushed glass !

I have recently acquired this steel hulled NB. top is ply/GRP and is being removed. I will be fitting a new steel superstructure myself
The boat is 45 foot and i would like if not to much hassle to extend it to 57 foot.
It has been overplated about 6 years ago i believe. to just to above the water line.
Is there any body about that would be willing to take this job on. I can do all the cutting and prep work and sort materials if they wanted. The boat is at Hesford Marina near Lymme.
I believe that ha sit has been over plated it will not be as easy as a single plate stretch.
Just wondering on cost.
Thanks folks

It's a metal box which floats down a ditch, what could go wrong?Lots of cowboys around in the narrow boat fabrication world, there are literally no regs or specs for the steel work or who does it, some have no welding qualifications at all. Be careful.
Replying to my own post..after the work, any insurance company (apart from basic 3rd-party cover perhaps) will probably demand a fresh survey. Best done before re-fitting the interior...It's a metal box which floats down a ditch, what could go wrong?
Bottle of Buckie round these parts gets you all sorts.Thats culture for you!! Up here its a slab o' Tennants!!
