I have got an 1981 GSX1100et sitting in my shed which is ripe for restoration, I have been getting round to doing this up for about 5 years now -Well I now need a winter project. The bike is 90% original and over the years I have managed to get the bits that were not, the last problem is I cant seem to find anyone who supplies a 4-2 exhaust system. Suzuki quoted silly money for one and were not 100% sure if they could actually supply, which leaves third party suppliers. I would like to refurb this bike as close as is possible to original spec does anyone know of anyone that makes pattern exhaust systems.

Harris have started remanufacturing their pipes, mind i think they're 4-1, but they might do other options....

get yourself some 303 bends then beg, borrow or steal a welder if you've not got one and knock up your own........this is a welding forum after all. lots of experienced guys on here to help you out, and its very rewarding. here's my first ever fabbed from scratch system for a Duratec kitcar project.
takes a bit of time and ability to think in 3D, but a good challenge. Theres' loads of gumph out there on lengths of primaries, 4-1, 4-2-1, this that and the other etc. You can google-overload believe me............ You're not re-inventing the wheel or if your not screwing every last horse out of the motor on the drag strip? Dive in and have some "fun".........

zorstec may be able to help, they did the pipework on my mates T100 resto and came out looking exactly the same as the original but in stainless and not chrome.
Thanks for the ideas chaps, I will get in touch with Zorstec in the new year. As for building my own, the phase "knowing ones limitations" come to mind
but thanks for the Turbo pic it brought back mixed memories of the one I had in 1980, it was a lot of fun until plod felt I should walk for a year

I've witnessed the aging of a Zorstec exhaust on a Shovelhead bobber. They told him it had been mandrel formed out of one piece of tube. However time told a different story, after a while you could see the joints as the wire became a more yellow in colour.
He might of misunderstood what he was getting, whatever; the result was the same, a nice exhaust ruined by incorrect filler choice

i think dave a exhaustcraft may be the best for this seen a good few things of his and they look good and can blend in rather than stick out as being aftermarket.
