I've been getting the wants lately for a miller dynasty 280/400, pity lorch or ewm don't offer a larger capacity machine that will run dual voltage

I want a 280 too, but only because I like the Miller blue and it would look good in the workshop alongside the XMT

Same choice a year ago , and I bought the EWM and a cooler. No regrets.

I think that’s something to do with the fact they have a lot of customers with heavy duty single phase supplies whereas most of Europe has low amp single phase supplies in most shops but spreading the load across 3 phases is more efficient. Not that the Yanks have ever had much time for efficiency when it comes to fuel or electricity.

I've turned a few jobs down because 220 just isn't enough not sure even if I was to upgrade my cord out, board ect how much juice I could run through single phase the tetrix 300 comfort probably best tig I've used to date

230 amp seems to be about as big as 240v inverters go from the big names.

Why multi process machines are handy. They at least give you stick welding capability as well which a 200amp stick welder will weld most thicknesses of material with proper prep and multiple passes. Takes longer though than it would with mig.

Stick welding aluminium is do able but ain't fun so I can see why you wouldn't bother.
