I have single phase at the moment looking to put in 3 phase, what would you recommend in single phase and 3 phase, it will be workshop only.Do you have single phase or 3 phase available?
Budget?
Workshop use only or out n about also? (gas coverage outdoors can be an issue with mig)
The size or power of the unit in question very much depends on the job you intend to do.I'm looking at buying an Ewm mig welder I will be going making gates and tractor trailers and repairing machinery. I was wondering what size mig would be suitable thanks.
Again both makes do single and 3 phase models but without knowing what you intend to do with it recommendations are quite difficult. I personally wouldn't put jassic in the same league as ewm or esab. Thanks for the replys, how would ye rate the esab welders and the Jasic welders local engineering supplies has started selling the Jasic welders
Both brands are dismal in comparison to the EWM.Thanks for the replys, how would ye rate the esab welders and the Jasic welders local engineering supplies has started selling the Jasic welders
No Lorch dealership south of the border in Ireland unfortunately.
All the other big names do though.

Stear clear from EWM IF ITS SINGLE PHASE I had one for 3 years a 256 Saturn nothing but trouble the pcd card went a few days after the the warrantee was up it cost me £220 to replace it then 4 weeks later the rectifier went but it was gauranteed it took 6 weeks to get it back fixed very bad after sales service I live in n.ireland stay from this agent he doesn't want to know unless

The faults with the Saturn 256 are known about and have been sorted, I know from experience having had both a rectifier fail (batch issue with diodes) and pcb (issue with the inductors coils fracturing from vibrations) with the one I have on my rental fleet. Having spoken to other dealers the issues have been sorted and the machines have been trouble free. For a transformer MIG the 256 has got one of the nicest weld conditions on 0.8mm dip transfer you’ll find, in fact it puts a lot of high-end inverter MIGs to shame.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience but sounds like a lot of it was to do with how you were looked after (or not) rather than a problem of the machine.
