I don't use my Evo sliding mitre saw much as I don't like the noise and hot shrapnel, but I have used it on box section and it's been fine so far. Yesterday I cut up some 30x30x3mm steel box section with no problems but then, as I had the saw set up, decided to cut some 50x3mm flat at 45 degrees, I managed 3 cuts but by then the saw was clearly labouring and when I looked at the blade all but one of the teeth had vanished! I wasn't trying to force the blade through the work, just letting it go at it's own rate but clearly there's a skill to using the saw that I don't have.
