I recorded some info on how long the blades and saw last on a 210mm a few years back. Still using the one with the noisy gearbox!
Evolution chop saw blade life data
I had to chop 6m lengths of 5mm x 25mm mild steel bar into 200 pieces and 25mm x 6mm bar into 80 pieces. Didn't fancy using a grinder and after some reading on here I bought a £50 Evolution chop saw from SF...

I'm reading this some months on from the original post. I felt rather peeved at the short life of my rage metal special blade. Nothing like the other reports. I'm not a dummy but will watch the extend life of blade video. Mines the big sliding one.

I've found it's very important to clean the metal first or it kill's the blade really quick

Interesting.. I bought a Rage4 w/ TCT blade to cut up bits of box section to make a gate.
Blade that came with it lasted something like 15 mitre cuts of 40x40x2.5 before suddenly going dull. The replacement has done about ~20 straight cuts on 30x30 and it's now clearly on the way out. The cuts are really good, but after the first few the number of sparks goes up further and further.
The amazon reviews are all over the place. I was _extremely gentle_ with it. I don't know if this is just par-for-the course, or whether I should try a different blade once this one dies (though I note the RPM on the rage4, whilst lower than others, is still higher than quoted for a lot of metal cutters) ?
I guess it was cheap cf that makita. The tip about cleaning the metal is interesting, I'll be trying that.

I got a cheap one that got good review's and it was total rubbish didn't last anywhere near as long as the Evolution one did
I have had a Evolution R255SMS mitre saw for a good few years now. As a wood saw its as good as I need and competes quite well with my DeWalt which cost an awful lot more. I have only used it to cut metal once and I would recommend a full face shield and something to cover your neck up as throws everything at you. An experience I have never wanted to repeat - although to be fair it did cut it well. The other thing is don't try to cut wood with the same blade after cutting metal.

I think the key to blade life is to follow the instructions. No more than two teeth should be cutting at one time. This is why they supply the clamp to hold box section at 90 degrees. And also why they're no good (or don't last long) when you try and do mitre cuts on box section...

Yeah, I think you're probably right, though of course cutting 45deg mitres there's little choice.. 
That said, it didn't seem to last very much longer on the blade used to do the square cuts held in the manner they suggest. The top 2 amazon reviews for that blade states
" I've made around 2000 cuts of thick walled 50mm box "
and
" I made over 100 cuts through 2mm box section and this"
I don't think it's possible to be any gentler on the cut than I was, so I really don't believe those reviews.
I guess it's a tradeoff, it's a cheap (£99) saw with a £21 blade vs much more for something that spins a lot slower. That's fair enough, but I wish the marketing was a bit more honest.
